Baptism Poems
**
When sprinkled with holy water
A sign from above;
That you will be welcomed
With hearts full of love.
This cleaning of the soul and the spirit
Begins a new life as a follower of Christ;
That you are now a disciple
And you have agreed a tryst.
A meeting of minds and heart
Focussing on peace and love;
For when God sent his only Son
From the great heavens above.
**
Allow the little children
Let them come unto me;
Their hearts are honest and open
They do not lie-you'll see.
This is how we were meant to be
Honest, loyal and true;
To God above all others
And then to me and you.
The human race has lost it's way
There is only one way to find;
Our way back to this place of love
With no greed or hatred in mind.

All of the parables
Are for us to learn;
See how we should be
For our place to earn.
Within the kingdom
There will be no place;
For anyone to be
In each others face.
So on this day
There will be a new start;
A cleansing and blessing
From Christ never to part.

Baptism Poems

The Ten Commandments are exactly that
They were not a multiple choice;
They were for the tribe of Israel
They would give them a voice.
They would identify by their fruits
Just who these people were;
That is the same nowadays
As actions still speak louder than words.
**
May God grant you always
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel so nothing can harm you,
Laughter to cheer you,
Faithful friends near you,
And whenever you pray,
Heaven to hear you.
**
On this day your own angel appears
God instructs each and everyone;
To look after that soul and help them
To hear his words and be kind to anyone.
We all have that intuition
That's what it gets called nowadays;
But our conscience is God given
It is not he that takes it away.
If we continually don't listen
This conscience withers and dies;
So think things through carefully
And you won't be damned by surprise.
**
Build me a son, O Lord,
who will be strong enough to know when he is weak,
and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid,
one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat,
and humble and gentle in victory.
