Leaving Poems

Our Leaving Poems are for help with finding the right words to say-maybe we're hurt-maybe we're frightened.

Sometimes it takes strength to go!

We've been together a while now but

I'm leaving you and I've got to go;

There's something missing and

I can't stay and let you hurt me so.

The pain has grown instead of love

Where did our laughter go?

All sense of direction went and left us

The world has won don't you know!

Resentment resides in my head and my heart

The words I need -oh -where do I start;

I have to go and find myself again

The only way is for us to be apart.

I am sorry you are leaving

Your loss will be greatly felt,

but I won't over exaggerate

and say that my heart will melt.

It's really hard to say goodbye,

to such a friend and pal,

with tears in my eye and a lump in my throat,

Adios! Au Revoir! Farewell

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.

Our time was good a long time ago now

Oh what a ride, they say good things come to an end;

So sorry to leave you but leave you I must

If I stay here much longer I'll go round the bend.

I'm missing you already
and you've not gone yet;
Our laughs and our silly jokes
You'll miss me too I bet.
If I get the chance
I will visit you;
Its just a shame
You're going to Timbuktoo.

There was a girl called Beverley

It doesn't matter if you fail;

She said you had to try;

At least you get to tell the tale.

So you're leaving us on friday

We all wish you the best of luck!

In fact we want to come with you

But I noticed out of that you ducked!
