To all those who have paid with their lives
We thank them from our very soul;
For our freedom and our safety
That they will never behold.

The price paid by their families
Full of pride but sadness too;
Their loved ones gone forever
Mummies and Daddies amongst them too.

Empty places at their tables
No hugs can come their way;
We honor and respect you all
There's nothing else to say!

There are those that are maimed
There are those with inner scars;
Experiences that go real deep
There's a high price for these wars.
We show honor and respect
For the service men and women;
Who've risked all they've got
More than the congressmen.
The prayer today for peace to reign
For evil to be destroyed;
For everyone to live in peace
And war and hatred to avoid!

In memory of those we love
We stand silent in our hearts and minds;
To share this wealth of emotion
Welling up within and reminds.

It reminds us of our comrades in arms
Our brothers, sisters, friends;
They will never leave our hearts
They will never leave our minds.

Many come and many go
The human spirit fights on;
For those who devote their lives
They won't see another dawn.

I am standing on the tarmac
feeling cold and all alone,
I am waiting for the moment,
my hero's coming home.

He gave his life for freedom,
So we can all be free.
But as I stand here waiting
I wish you were here with me.

I will not feel your touch again
or watch you as you sleep.
Pick up your clothes, or hear you laugh
the sadness makes me weep.

But as they bring you from the plane,
draped with red, white and blue
I know you're a hero
and I'm so proud of you.

They shall grow not old

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
